Tami was drawn to yoga in 2008. She was intrigued by the physical side of the practice, specifically the challenge and excitement of arm balances and inversions. As she began to move forward and explore different types of classes, Tami noticed a shift within as she embraced the other limbs of yoga as well. While she still enjoys spending time on her hands, Tami now practices all aspects of yoga as a path to realize her higher self. Tami approaches her classes as she does each day, with an open heart and a willingness to have fun. She often refers to her mat as her "playground." You can expect detailed alignment cues in her instruction creating a balance between the technical aspects of asana and the lightness she brings to the practice. Tami loves to use props in her classes to help students go deeper or to find their best expression of the pose. She encourages students to try new things, to trust themselves, and to be open to the endless possibilities yoga has to offer. She creates a space that is safe, nurturing and filled with joy. Tami is certified in Chair Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Ropes & Slings. She completed her 500hr Certification with Dhyana Yoga Arts and currently teaches in DYA’s Yoga Teacher Trainings at the 200 & 500hr levels.
