From Deanna:

I'll often call the wisdom in the Yoga Sutras "tools for sanity."

Because this time-tested wisdom text offers tools for calming the mind, Self-Realization and abiding in what Yoga calls your True Nature or Pure Consciousness (many names for this- true self/unconditional love/divine/mystery/insert-your-own-word).

My next monthly Dharma Workshop is Thursday, March 6th, and references the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, an ancient wisdom text that views Yoga as the Science of the Mind - which translates to living with more ease, joy, peace, equanimity and balance.

The "yoga philosophy" tools I'll share help with everything we do.

They relate to calming the mind and clearing away the "avidya" (Sanskrit for the veil that clouds our ability to see our true nature) - this affects all of our relationships, work, creativity, passions, and actions to create conscious change.

If you want to dig a deeper well and learn more about Yoga, beyond just the physical practice (it's so much more than poses!), then register today to hold your spot in the workshop.

From Deanna:

Yoga and it's Sister Sciences include so much more than just poses - this vast world beyond supports our holistic well-being ... physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. I love creating space for dialogue around how these ancient teachings and ancient technology apply to our real-time everyday life.

Often I get to share these teachings in teacher trainings, but I feel it's accessible to everyone and want to open the doors for anyone who wants to participate.

These teachings support a deeper understanding of ourselves, others and our world. They give us tools for the mind and help us in measuring experiences against our own "truth meter" so we can live with more joy, ease, wisdom, and compassion and trust the guidance that comes from within.

Dharma has many meanings, including "teachings of truth" or "universal laws" that support personal purpose, spiritual growth and universal balance.

I've studied many spiritual traditions over the years, and one of things I've found is that they all have similarities that point in the same direction. When we practice with heart and sincerity, it deepens our connection to Source (however we connect with it) and empowers us to bring awareness to the way we're living. For me, it strengthens discernment, kindness, strength, resilience, courage, gentleness and the ability to abide in unconditional love.

We'll explore these "truth and wisdom teachings" in the topics above to support your unique path of Yoga and Self-realization. I look forward to opening up the conversation with you and hope you'll join me. May you be happy, healthy, safe and live with joy and ease!
