This workshop is part of Dharma with Deanna: Online Monthly Workshop Series

ONLINE

Registration required at least 24 hours in advance and we’ll send you the zoom link.

Ayurveda is a holistic form of medicine from India that is thousands of years old and is known as the Sister Science to Yoga. It can be utilized for optimal health through daily lifestyle habits, nutrition, and activities tailored to the individual’s unique needs.

It recognizes that each person is different and that ways to stay healthy and happy are not a one-size-fits-all kind of thing. It honors that each individual can make small changes in daily habits to find and maintain balance.

Deanna shares holistic seasonal ways of living, an overview of Ayurveda to understand your unique personal state of equilibrium (prakruti), and ways to tailor the use of foods, herbs, spices, pranayama, and asana to cultivate healing and transformation.

Fall is a time associated with the element of AIR, according to Ayurveda.

When AIR is balanced, it shows up as creativity, higher thinking, deep connection, grace and inspiration.

When it's out of balance - it can show up as stress, physical aches and pains, anxiety, or feeling overextended, exhausted, or flighty (too-much-up-in-the-mind/head-space or too much movement).

This is a season when grounding practices are especially important.

Whether you’re familiar with Ayurveda or new to it, this gathering is designed to meet you where you are. Join us for a relaxed, supportive conversation—bring your questions and curiosity!

From Deanna:

Yoga and it's Sister Sciences include so much more than just poses - this vast world beyond supports our holistic well-being ... physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. I love creating space for dialogue around how these ancient teachings and ancient technology apply to our real-time everyday life.

Often I get to share these teachings in teacher trainings, but I feel it's accessible to everyone and want to open the doors for anyone who wants to participate.

These teachings support a deeper understanding of ourselves, others and our world. They give us tools for the mind and help us in measuring experiences against our own "truth meter" so we can live with more joy, ease, wisdom, and compassion and trust the guidance that comes from within.

Dharma has many meanings, including "teachings of truth" or "universal laws" that support personal purpose, spiritual growth and universal balance.

I've studied many spiritual traditions over the years, and one of things I've found is that they all have similarities that point in the same direction. When we practice with heart and sincerity, it deepens our connection to Source (however we connect with it) and empowers us to bring awareness to the way we're living. For me, it strengthens discernment, kindness, strength, resilience, courage, gentleness and the ability to abide in unconditional love.

We'll explore these "truth and wisdom teachings" in the topics above to support your unique path of Yoga and Self-realization. I look forward to opening up the conversation with you and hope you'll join me. May you be happy, healthy, safe and live with joy and ease!
